Virtually anyone can set up an Instagram account and gradually develop it into a steady business. The key lies in knowing the quickest and most efficient route to success.
You may have come across Instagram users making a profit from their accounts. Perhaps, looking at your own significant following, you’ve pondered, “Could I turn this into a full-time endeavor as well?”
How to Make Money on Instagram
Making money on Instagram has become a very popular trend in the digital era. There are several strategies you can employ to monetize your Instagram account.
Remember, the key to making money on Instagram is having a significant reach, influence, and an engaged following.
If your goal is to understand the process of earning money through Instagram, your search might just end here. Leveraging other people’s addiction to social media is a powerful way of making money and does not have to be super time-consuming or complicated.
Promote Your Brand
Instagram is an excellent platform to bolster and expand your side business. For instance, if you run a craft store on Etsy or operate a food blog that earns through advertising, a polished Instagram account can significantly enhance your promotional efforts. This strategy is also frequently utilized on TikTok.
Establishing a business account will grant you access to complimentary tools and valuable insights.
Your bio section can serve as a gateway to your Etsy shop or website, or even a specific product page, thus attracting more visitors. Feel free to modify the link in your bio as required. If you’ve been granted access to Instagram Shopping features, you can tag products in your posts, promoting them directly through photos and videos.
Lay the groundwork for success Ensure your product photos are well-lit and appealing, and your promotional projects are easily discoverable. Develop a unique hashtag and observe the ones used by your competitors. Motivate your customers to share pictures of your products and tag you.
Furthermore, leverage Instagram’s insights feature to understand your audience better. It allows you to track the reach of your posts and gather demographic data about engaged users.
Collaborate with Content Creators
Influencer marketing provides an avenue for your business to be showcased to the creator’s followers, and vice versa, creating a mutually beneficial situation.
While scouting potential collaborators, it’s crucial to scrutinize their content and principles. Opt for individuals whose objectives resonate with yours to ensure the collaboration appears logical to consumers, rather than a disjointed promotional ploy.
Creators who naturally align with your products and would be inclined to use or endorse them. Compensation for the collaboration could be in the form of cash, product giveaways, or an affiliate agreement (further details on this can be found in the preceding “Join an affiliate program” section of this post). The arrangement would involve the creator featuring your business in their posts.
Sponsored Posts
Sponsored content is a prominent method for earning income on Instagram, largely dependent on your influence. You can view it as being a brand advocate or promoter, which carries significant implications. If your associated company faces any controversy, your reputation might be affected too. Hence, choosing the right business affiliations is critical.
Ideally, you should support a product that you genuinely use and trust. So, how can you secure sponsored content opportunities? If you’ve established substantial authority in your field or amassed a large follower base, sponsors will likely approach you. However, this doesn’t mean you should remain passive. This model encourages influencers to actively seek sponsored content opportunities.
You can identify businesses that could potentially gain from collaborating with you. They don’t necessarily have to be high-profile brands. Even smaller firms are seeking partnerships with Instagram influencers. To convince them, you’ll need to craft an engaging proposal demonstrating your worthiness as an investment.
If you’re struggling to find sponsors, consider joining an influencer marketing platform. These platforms already have relationships with brands looking for sponsorship deals. If your Instagram profile aligns with a company’s needs, they’ll pair you for sponsored content creation.
Fire Off The DMs
The trick is to DM or Direct Message people who might be interested in whatever affiliate product you’re promoting.
Go to Bitly and shorten the link to whatever it is you are promoting and put it in your Bio and add some arrow emojis pointing to it or something similar just to draw more attention to it. Then above the link type something such as “Here is a once in a lifetime work from home opportunity but it’s not for everyone” or something like that.
You say once in a lifetime to make it sound very valuable but then say not for everyone to build curiosity and you don’t come across as spammy. If you don’t use Instagram or you don’t have any uploads I recommend you get some posts this is very easy all you have to do is go to Fiverr and buy some there with captions it’s very cheap. Just look up “social media post design” or “Instagram post design”
So in this case I can go to the search bar at the top and type in “make money online” or just “make money” and then you will see a list of Instagram accounts under these keywords. Just select one and click one of their pictures and then you can see all the people that commented and liked the photo.
The next step is to make a list of these people in a notepad file. It’s easier to do this on a laptop or desktop instead of your phone.
Even though it might seem tempting I don’t recommend just sending all these people your affiliate link in the DM. Instead, you can follow them and just say what’s up or How are you doing today. You can compliment their posts and like some of them. Then say I think you might like my Instagram if you want to check it out.
You’re just inviting these people back to your page so they can be exposed to the affiliate link in your Bio. You don’t want to be a spammer as people can report you and block you. If you just blatantly spam people on Instagram or any other social media platform for that matter your account will be suspended.
You can send between 20 to 50 DMs per day or even up to 100+ if your account is older and more trusted by Instagram. You can also create groups of 32 people each to broadcast your message more effectively.
One tip is to not send the same exact message to hordes of people in a very short time. Switch the message up and spread the messages out so Instagram does not think you are trying to spam. This is the main reason why you should not put your affiliate link in the DMs because it will be looked at as spam and you will be suspended or blocked from sending more messages.
This is a very easy method for promoting any link whether it be your affiliate link or a link to your site.
Instagram is not very saturated and you can get many buyer prospects in a very short period of time and get residual income flooding your bank account with this simple easy trick.
Maximize Exposure
Now you can make money just by sending DMs with no followers. However, if you have a way to get followers to your Instagram then you will increase the chances of getting, even more, clicks and sales to your affiliate offer on auto autopilot which is nice.
In order to get more followers, we want to repost content that people in our niche engage a lot with. So just head over to All Hashtag and type in the main keyword for the niche you are in and you will get the top 30 hashtags related to that niche so you can look for related content that is very trendy on Instagram that you can repost every day to rapidly grow your follower base.
You can also use these hashtags for your own posts. When reposting other content from Instagram make sure you put the handle of the original poster in the description of the post.
Something to Think About
You need to stop using Instagram as a socialization tool and letting it suck your time away from quality time with the people around you in your area. You need to take back control. Instead of having Instagram use you, you need to use Instagram (this applies to any other social media platform as well) by leveraging it to draw attention to your brand or business.
Think about it. How many times have you picked up your phone, just to get a dopamine hit? You put it down for a minute and then you picked it up again for no reason whatsoever.
Have you ever done that? Where you’ve you’ve just picked up your phone for no reason. You’ve turned it on you’re like, “Why am I on my phone?” Then you’re like, “Let me go on Facebook or Instagram and check out some random stuff.” That my friend is the internet using you. You are the product and your attention is the product.
However, if you transcend that if you take back control of your time and your life, and don’t let these tech overlords manipulate you into putting your attention on your phone and you instead use it as a tool to make money.
You will have better quality relationships and you will have more money but you need to take back control. Use Instagram as well as other social media platforms as a tool to leverage your outreach to whatever market you are in and make some serious money.
